On Thursday the 3rd of October, Ellsworth (Buddy) Franklin Harbaugh Jr, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 76.
Bud was born in Pittsburg PA on September 22nd 1943 to Ellsworth Franklin Harbaugh and Marion Wilson Harbaugh. He was a graduate of Goldey Beacom College. He worked as a recruiter for National Guard, where he served from 1978-1997 On August 19th in 1967, he married his love, Deborah Lee Mitchell. They raised one daughter, Heather Nicole Harbaugh Warburton, and many beloved pets.
Bud has a passion for playing poker. He competed in national tournaments from Atlantic City to Las Vegas. You could always find him at weekly poker games with longtime friends. While he served in the military, he was loved by his soldiers who affectionally knew him as “Sarge” Throughout his life he also enjoyed playing golf, boating, and fishing. He was a car enthusiast specifically for his much-loved Corvettes. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and quickness with a joke. He loved making people laugh and his larger than life, gregarious personality never failed to entertain. He was a natural salesman and took great pleasure in both buying and selling as long as he got a deal, which he usually did.
Bud was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister Laura (Lolly). He is survived by wife Debbie, daughter Heather, and Sister Judy.
Funeral services will be held on Friday the 11th of October at 1PM in the afternoon at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
